Welcome to August friends, and like me I’m sure you’re also overheating whilst frantically typing away to communicate through emails, sms, blogs, twitter, intranet, all other social networks….need I go on……but there’s one more hot little site to add to the list for our world of work.

Cast your eye over the handsome new www.my-ijob.com  For how long have we been producing videos to enable employers to express their people brand through engaging video and audio? Yes, a while. Well this new video job site could just be the ticket. It’s early days, but awaiting their partnership with AOL’s 32million monthly users in Sept could be the i-cing (sorry!) on the cake for all the hours of filming and editing that ended up on the cutting room floor.

I like what they’re doing and it’s an interesting spin on things. My only thought is that clients will gain a lot more engagement points from supporting and investing in video as an enhancement to their own careers sites, rather than simply aggregating everything together in one big jumble. Make the video enhance the user experience, enriching it, rather than using the medium for the sake of it. It’s a channel not a panacea for resourcing gloom, after all.

Anything that supports video and audio is good in my book, though.

Yes, totally agree. However, we can kill two birds with this one stone. When a candidates first interaction with an employer is via a job board text listing, it’s a great use of that video, rather than relying purely on them viewing the corporate site, which they may never have looked at otherwise. Use it as a traffic drive to the corporate site too. Candidates may see the same video twice in that case, but an even better ROI on video production costs than just hiding it away on page 32 of a corporate site map. I’m more than interested in the results from this new opportunity.

Does anyone know anyone over their? They’re doing some really cool stuff and we could probably help showcase them.
