Well we’ve probably all experienced the delight of lightboxes and their smooth transitions that not only provide functionality but also an enhanced user experience, but have you noticed ‘snap shots‘? Fun and interactive, these little beauties are a new and unique way of delivering content. Install and add to your web browser and you’re googling becomes all the merrier. Give it a ’shot’!

It’s quite simple really.
Do:
recycle paper, plastic bottles, cans, glass, cardboard, plastic cutlery - and all rinsed of course.
Don’t:
recycle your leftover lunch, tea bags, plastic bags (we should all know by now they take 1000 years to degrade!), your sandwich wrapper, bread bags, ketchup wrappers, sticky stuff. And… don’t print unless necessary, send an email instead, use recycled paper, take a re-usable bag to do your shopping, and the list could go on….
Just some of the basics.
Do remember.
Don’t forget.
Be green. It’s not that hard.

Well Blackbridge are definitely ones to party, but last night was really the icing on the cake, for our very own Birthday Party! A fabulous evening, plenty of bubbles, balloons and banter, and of course, one of my evenings highlights - some very baffling magic!! Card tricks galore, I had to scout the room for a second time, to get another piece of the magic action. I’m still trying to figure it all out…. Any clues anyone?
Happy Birthday Blackbridge!

Yes, that’s right. You, yes you, can help save Mother Earth. Those good old Aussies down under got a great thing going on last year, when they initiated some global action against global warming. For one hour, millions of people across the world took the simple action of turning off their lights to deliver a powerful message about the need for action on global warming. Sydney’s energy consumption alone was reduced by 10.2% for one hour, which is the equivalent effect of taking 48,000 cars off the road for one hour! Rocking!!
This year, on the 29th March at 8pm, the rest of the world will again join in on a global action to tackle our environmental problems. Put it in the diary, go and get a candle and plant a tree for the new year.
Check it….!

Last week, Al Gore, the former US vice-president was awarded the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize jointly with the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. For many years now, even prior to his presidential defeat by Bush, Al Gore has been a strong and public advocate of environmental awareness and more recently, for climate change and the dramatic effect it is having on our planet. It’s a brilliant thing that his incredible efforts have received such high recognition and I want to encourage everyone, if you haven’t already, to check out “An Inconvenient Truth” - Al Gore’s Oscar winning documentary film on climate change. Be aware and take action people!

Blackbridge is very proud to announce that over the past year we’ve recycled approximately 430kg of paper and 20kg of cans & plastic bottles, thus saving the equivalent of 4 trees and 600 kWh of energy! Well done team! Let’s keep up the green work, be carbon smart and maybe even hug a tree!
